materialisticpunk is just an idiosyncratic name that emerged one day. Now, it represents an ongoing journey to document alternative life, music, and style.
At the head of the project is Riviere (Riv), a multi-disciplined artist who began their journey with Illustration. In 2018, they were gifted their first camera and fell in love with Photography. Starting with portraiture, Ro quickly found an interest in capturing the human form in increasingly more abstract ways.

Starting with portraiture, Ro quickly found an interest in capturing the human form in increasingly more abstract ways.
In 2024, their involvement in the local Atlanta DIY music scene merged with their interest in photography and opened up a series of opportunities to photograph local Atlanta musicians in their element. Later that year, they explored editorial photography through their Queen of the Damned series. Through this project, they hope to balance capturing the raw reality of underground music with the elegance of fashion photography to curate a unique look into the subcultures of the South.
